Bernie Sanders and Media Bias

Bernie Sanders recently said on CNN:

 

" I come from a state where there is virtually no gun control. But the people of my state understand, pretty clearly, that guns in Vermont are not the same thing as guns in Chicago or Los Angeles. In our state, guns are used for hunting. In Chicago they are used for kids killing other kids or gang members shooting at police officers, shooting down innocent people."

 

What's the difference between Vermont and Chicago/LA, Bernie?  If a Republican had said that, there would be cries of racism. For Bernie, it's ignored.

Liberals Fail on 2nd Amendment and Originalism

 

"When the  Second Amendment was written, all they had were muskets, so all you can own is that." - This is the new liberal talking point in defense of their view that the Constitution “evolves”.

 

1. If they wanted to say muskets, they would have said so. They had cannons and rifles at the time of the Constitution. Neither was banned.

2. Even by the Revolution, there had been technological advances. The musket was came from the arquebus. As mentioned, rifles existed for decades at that point too.

3. The Constitution was made to evolve. That's why there is an amendment process

 

Planned Parenthood's Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics

PP has been spinning their statistics and the media goes along with it.  They say “abortions only make up 3% of services”, but they count abortion-related services.

 

They did 1.2 million pregnancy tests. Those tests are done because a woman thinks she might be pregnant and is interested in an abortion. You can get a $5 test at CVS if you are just curious. Then they'll give a 12 month prescription of birth control pills afterwards (12 services). There will be a follow up exam (1 service). If she engaged in a risky encounter, they’ll give her a STD test (~6 services - one for every kind of STD they test).

 

 Other “procedures” are misrepresentation. “Contraception services” is selling a condom. They are probably sold to the clients that came in thinking they were pregnant. If they sell a 12 pack, does that count as 12? CVS sells condoms too.

 

 If you look at it via money, it’s quite another thing. They had $1.2 billion in revenue including $530 million from the government, so the revenue from customers was $670. They did 330,000 abortions, so they made about $440 million from that. So that’s 2/3rd of their revenue.

Uncommon organism terminations is only 3% of Palmer's activities. He routinely provides key dental services to poor people. Without him, poor people's teeth will fall out. Why do you all hate poor people?
