The Great Public Union Swindel

There is a fundamental difference in public and private unions. I don't think private unions are good for the employees or the company, but there are not the morale hazards associated with public unions.

Private unions do not elect the Board of Directors or vote for CEO.

Public unions negotiate with the same people they make donations to and campaign for. Government officials, on the other side of the table, are only spending taxpayer money.   This creates a huge morale hazard where government officials could be easily tempted to give away other people's money in exchange for increased donations and GOTV drives at election time.
