Flashback: Kerry on Invasions
“No president, though all of American history, has ever ceded, and nor would I, the right to preempt in any way necessary to protect the United States of America. But if and when you do it, Jim, you have to do it in a way that passes the test, that passes the global test where your countrymen, your people understand fully why you’re doing what you’re doing and you can prove to the world that you did it for legitimate reasons.” (Sen. John Kerry, First Presidential Debate, Miami, FL, 9/30/04)
Now he wants to invade Syria, when the country and our allies oppose.

Obama and the Syria Civil War
Obama wants to go to war in Syria. From all appearances, this is a civil war between regional Sunni muslims and the Assad based Shiite muslims. Napoleon said "not interfere with the enemy when he is in the process of destroying himself."
Obama has a long way to prove any reason to get involved
1) Who are the rebels and are they worse than Assad?
2) Is there a threat to America?
3) What is our end game / exit strategy?
4) Is any of this worth risking American lives?
5 If we just do an air war, what is the benefit if we replace one dictator with another? Do we really think they'll set up a Jeffersonian democracy.
The case against Saddam was much more compelling than Assad, but Obama and Kerry opposed it. This is mind boggling. Let's compare dictators:
Saddam:
-- Invaded and pillaged Kuwait
-- Broke terms of 1991 cease fire
-- Kicked out weapons inspectors
-- Used chemical weapons on 50,000+ Kurds
-- Defied 18 UN resolutions
-- Tried to assassinate Papa Bush
-- Harbored a 1993 WTC bombing conspirator
-- Paid the families of suicide bombers
Assad
-- May have used chemical weapons on 1,000 people. (Also may have been a false flag by the Sunni 'rebels')
