Opponents of those that want to defund Auschwitz say that reports of any unusual activity at the camp are HIGHLY EDITED. Further, residents and administrative officials at the economic development camp claim many jobs will be lost if the site is defunded.
The Auschwitz Economic Development Facility opened in 1941 and has provided economic benefit to the area formerly known as Poland. Jitka Hankusa, a 8 year old girl, helps run a small bakery. "Everyday Hanz and Franz come into to buy kolaches," said little Jitka. "If the camp is shut down, how will I eat?"
